When students found out they could no longer attend the summer program RSI, the students took it upon themselves to utilize their unique skills and collaborate to create findcovidtests.com -- a website that displays local sites where the public can get tested for COVID-19.

In order to address mental health issues among teens, Teenline was created to enable teens to talk amongst each other and provide peer support. Teens providing support have undergone a rigorous interview process and have been trained.

WASHINGTON STATE

Bellevue Bites is a website founded by Sophie Sanjnani, a freshman in high school, to support local businesses. On this website, you can find local restaurants in WA State that offer takeout and delivery with discounts.

  • Rent

If you need help paying rent, call the Homelessness Prevention Call Center. Dial 3-1-1 or (312) 744-5000 and ask for “short-term help.” Callers that are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired should dial (312) 948-6817.

  • Income

Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) remains open. Call IDES at (800) 244-5631.

Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) is still offering applications for benefits and requests for assistance for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid. Call the ABE Call Center at (800) 843-6154.

COVID-19 RELIEF

PERIOD is a grassroots-run organization shipping period products at NO COST to combat menstrual inequity during COVID-19. Their team is sending them to any service provider (shelters, food pantries, etc) around the US who requests them. For every $35 donated, they will be able to cover shipping to serve 100 periods in the United States.

It is oftentimes overlooked by people, but the Navajo Nation currently has the highest number of COVID-19 deaths in the country. In tandem with lack of infrastructure, unpaved roads, and federal negligence, indigenous communities are being impacted severely by COVID-19. Help grassroots organizers working tirelessly to provide goods/services.

The continuous stream of police brutality inflicted upon black communities is happening amidst a severe pandemic. In particular, due to various structural & institutional inequities, black communities are far more vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19; the NAACP's 2,200 local units across the United States are working to grant relief.
